Frequently asked

A few quick answers.

How do I enable microphone access?

On your iPhone, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, then turn on access for Pulso. You can also open Pulso and follow the permission prompt the first time you tune.

The app doesn't detect notes.

Make sure microphone access is enabled, move to a quieter space, and play one string at a time with a clear, sustained pluck. Keep the bottom microphone area of your iPhone unobstructed.

The detected frequency is unstable.

Let the previous string stop vibrating before playing another. Background noise, nearby instruments, and strings ringing together can make the reading move. A steady, medium-strength pluck works best.

Which tuning does Pulso use?

Pulso supports chromatic tuning and standard six-string guitar tuning: E–A–D–G–B–E, from the lowest string to the highest.
